    I work as the Genealogist at Birmingham Register Office. We are the largest single Registration District in Europe and, within the
    Local Registration Offices, Birmingham is the only office that employs a full-time Genealogist.

    We try to provide services to our customers who require certificates and assistance with their Family History
    research. At the same time it will help them to decide whether it might be more advantageous in certain situations to apply to a local Register Office
    rather than to the General Register Office, as the cost of ordering a certificate locally can be cheaper.
