Here in Northamptonshire, representatives from the Record Office, Local Studies, Family History Society, Museums Forum, National Trust and Historic Homes Forum have joined together with Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership (Tourism body for the county) to promote ancestral tourism. We have a Northamptonshire Roots website, have held training sessions with partners from the heritage sector, have enlisted one of our local BBC Radion Northampton presenter as an ambassador and are working hard to promote AT in this county. Our website acts as a 'one stop shop' for visitors to the county with links to all the heritage providers / accomodation / museums/ archives/ FH Society etc. And everyone benefits - visitors and the heritage sector alike!
