The article on Hill 60 brought to mind that we went to see a movie titled 'Beneath Hill 60' and this was made here in Queensland during 2009 and released in early 2010, the film is about a platoon of Australian Miners who dug a tunnel under the hill so they could put explosives under it to blow up the hill to help the troops move further as the Germans were holding the hill etc. The film concentrated on the digging of the tunnel and it seems the Germans were also digging nearly along side the Australians but coming the other way. The film was very realistic in that you had the sensation of actually being there with the water constantly dripping. Some of the miners were from a place called Mount Morgan which is still a gold mining town. Hope this is of interest.
