My ancesters where lead miners and farmers on greenhow hill, a villag between nidderdale and wharfedale in the yorkshire dales. I was born in Grassington, a village in upper wharfedale (the Yorkshire Dales) most of the dales younger people had to move out to find work and also, because of people moving in to the dales buying second homes and making the price of property so high that the local people could not afford a home to live in. I can trace my family back to the 17th cenntury, both my wife and I are true dales people. My wife was born in Hawes Wensleydale. WE ARE DALES BORN AND BRED
